A Great Lakes Cottage Getaway
Summer holidays are coming – what are you planning?
Vacation Rentals, Cottage Rentals and Lakefront Cabins, where does one start to look?
Deer Park Lodge is perched on the bluffs overlooking shimmering turquoise waters of Lake Huron with a secluded sandy broad beach just for you.
Whether your speed is watching the sun go down or a stroll down our beach town paths, there are things to do in Bayfield that will satisfy everyone in your gang, two-legged and four-legged.
In a south-western direction from Toronto, Deer Park Lodge is a 2 ½ hour drive away. Right in the GTA’s backyard, Lake Huron is the third largest fresh water lake in the world. Lake Huron is fed by Lake Superior, which is the largest fresh water lake in the world. Lake Superior is a much deeper and northerly-situated lake, its character is intrinsic to the Canadian Shield granite. The lake and landscape is deep navy, dramatic and ancient.
Lake Huron’s personality feels gentle and almost tropical, evident in its’ many shades of turquoise, warm sunny climate - this part of Lake Huron is called The Sunshine Coast - resulting in lush vegetation and a relaxed pace of life. Many of the beach town cottages are painted in vibrant colours as well. There is a special quality to the light here. This is best pondered while sitting on the lip of this massive body of fresh water, on our natural beach a hundred miles from any significant patch of concrete or traffic with all the golden sunshine reflecting up into an azure sky and bouncing off giant trees with only the sound of the birds, breeze and waves.
